Community Comes Together to Provide PPE for Cleveland Housing Court
May 15, 2020

Cleveland Housing Court has remained open for service for emergency eviction filings and hearings during the COVID-19 pandemic. While working, the Court was diligently searching for the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), especially the hard to acquire face shields. While obtaining face masks for Housing Court personnel, the City of Cleveland Office of Risk Management and The Cleveland Public Library surprised Housing Court last week by donating 20 much needed face shields.

Judge Scott stated that “Locating face shields for purchase was proving very difficult for my Court. I didn’t feel comfortable in allowing my bailiffs to proceed with court supervised move-out without being outfitted in proper full PPE’s. Cleveland Public Library’s valuable donation of 20 face shields was perfectly timed in that it will allow Cleveland Housing Court’s staff to safely proceed with their hard work and dedication in serving the Cleveland community.”
