Cleveland Municipal Court's Judge Larry A. Jones Drug Court Earns Prestigious Final Certification, Paving Way for Continued Impact

This specialized docket, with a remarkable track record spanning over 25 years since its establishment in 1998, provides a vital alternative to incarceration. 

Under the dedicated leadership of Judge Michelle D. Earley, who took over in January of 2025, individuals living with serious substance use receive comprehensive treatment combined with robust court supervision. To date, nearly 2,000 individuals have successfully completed the program, transforming their futures and positively impacting our community. 

"Achieving this final certification truly validates the dedication of our team and the effectiveness of our approach," said Judge Earley. "I'm honored to lead such an impactful initiative and excited to see the continued positive change we can bring to Cleveland."

Receiving certification involved a thorough review by the Supreme Court of Ohio's Commission on Specialized Dockets (SCOO), ensuring the program meets the highest standards for effectiveness and accountability. 

This renewed certification highlights the court's commitment to innovative and impactful justice, fostering a healthier, safer Cleveland for everyone.
