CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland Municipal Court's innovative Mental Health Gardening Program continued to blossom Friday, Aug. 29, offering a unique blend of rehabilitation and community support. Participants from the court's Mental Health Docket spent the morning at Village Family Farms Community Garden, actively engaged in planting, harvesting, and learning about greenhouse operations.

The Mental Health Docket is a specialized program at the Cleveland Municipal Court that provides intensive supervision and services to individuals within the justice system who are living with mental illness. Its core mission is to promote successful community integration and reduce the likelihood of re-offending.

The Honorable Suzan M. Sweeney champions these therapeutic gardening sessions, which provide a vital, hands-on component to the docket's comprehensive approach. The program fosters well-being, builds community, and equips participants with practical skills, all while demonstrating the court's commitment to holistic support.

Friday's session saw participants connecting with nature and each other, highlighting the profound impact of therapeutic activities. The court emphasizes this program as a powerful, nontraditional approach to supporting individuals and helping them thrive.
