(Cleveland) – The 54th Graduation Ceremony of the Greater Cleveland Drug Court under the direction of Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Lauren C. Moore, took place Wednesday, February 15 at 4:30 p.m. in the Cuyahoga County Jury Assembly Room located on the fourth floor of the Justice Center.

(Cleveland, Ohio) – The Honorable Ronald B. Adrine will serve his final year on the bench as the Administrative and Presiding Judge of the Cleveland Municipal Court. He retires at the end of next year, following 36 years of service. This is the ninth year in a row that Adrine has held the two positions since first being selected to lead the bench in December of 2008. As such, he continues to be responsible for overseeing the business and direction of the court.

(Cleveland, Ohio) – The Cleveland Municipal Court announced today that it will implement the Public Safety Assessment (PSA), a data-driven risk assessment tool that provides objective information that judges can consider when deciding whether to release or detain a defendant prior to trial.

The Cleveland Municipal Court will formally announce a partnership with the Laura and John Arnold Foundation (LJAF) to implement an evidence-based pre-trial risk assessment tool that judges can use to help them decide which defendants pose a risk to public safety and should be detained prior to trial, and which can be safely released.

(Cleveland) – After two years of operation, The Cleveland Municipal Court Human Trafficking Docket is staging its first graduation, which will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Massimo da Milano’s Restaurant, located at 430 West 25th Street in Cleveland.

The 53rd Graduation Ceremony of the Greater Cleveland Drug Court under the direction of Cleveland Municipal Judge Lauren C. Moore, took place Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the Garfield Heights Civic Center, located at 5407 Turney Road, in Garfield Heights.

Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Ed Wade died today at the Hospice of the Western Reserve, following complications due to prostate cancer. He was 69.

The 2017 Annual Conference for the American Judges Association will be held at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel next September, thanks to Cleveland’s turnaround and plenty of persuasive lobbying by Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Joseph J. Zone.

The 52nd Graduation Ceremony of the Greater Cleveland Drug Court, now under the direction of Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Lauren C. Moore, will take place Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. in the Cuyahoga County Jury Assembly Room located on the fourth floor of the Justice Center.

In preparation for possible mass arrests that may occur during the week of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, the Cleveland Municipal Court will have staff available from July 18-22 in the Justice Center on 1200 Ontario Street and if needed, at the Cleveland House of Corrections, located at 4041 Northfield Road in Cleveland.

In an effort to raise awareness about addiction and to support those recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, the Cleveland Municipal Court and the Greater Cleveland Drug Court are presented “Sober Ball 2016” at Crossroads House, located on 460 Northfield Road in Bedford, Ohio Friday, June 17 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The 51st Graduation Ceremony of the Greater Cleveland Drug Court, under the direction of Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Lauren C. Moore, will take place Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. in the Cuyahoga County Jury Assembly Room located on the fourth floor of the Justice Center.

After months of preparation and practice, almost 200 High School students from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District demonstrated their public speaking and legal skills, Friday, May 6th at the 2016 Cleveland Mock Trial Competition, presented by the Cleveland Municipal Court and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation.

The Cleveland Municipal Court was one of ten applicants nationwide announced today by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance, in partnership with the Center for Court Innovation, as a 2016 Community Court Grant Program winner.

On April 12, 2016 Gov. John R. Kasich filled a vacancy on the Cleveland Municipal Court. Cuyahoga County Probate Court Magistrate Janet Rath Colaluca will replace retired Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Angela R. Stokes in early May.

Michael R. Sliwinski, the Ohio Lottery Commission’s assistant legal counsel, will become a judge on the Cleveland Municipal Court on April 4 after his appointment by Gov. John R. Kasich on March 14 to fill a vacancy.

Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Michelle D. Earley has been selected to serve on the Task Force to Examine Improvements to the Ohio Grand Jury System.

For the eighth year in a row, the judges of the Cleveland Municipal Court (www.cmcoh.org) have elected the Honorable Ronald B. Adrine to the position of Administrative and Presiding Judge, a position that makes him responsible for overseeing the business and direction of the court.

Mr. Orman Hall, Manager of the Specialized Dockets Section at the Supreme Court of Ohio, visited the Cleveland Municipal Court on November 4, 2015 to observe the Greater Cleveland Drug Court for the purpose of recertification. Recertification is a process required by the SCOO when a new judge begins presiding over a specialized docket.

Over 50 parents appeared at Jane Addams High School Wednesday, October 28 for arraignment proceedings, as a result of their child being cited for a curfew violation during school hours.
