Judge Larry A. Jones Drug Court - Yoga on the Beach and Graduation
Plenty of sunshine, a warm breeze off the lake and a record amount of supporters made Monday, July 10, 2023 a very special day for Edgewater Park. More importantly, 12 graduated from the Judge Larry A. Jones Drug Court that day, making the total number of graduates 1,909 since the program began in 1998.
This was the third Yoga on the Beach event and the first to include a graduation. Participants in the Judge Larry A. Jones Drug Court generally spend 12 to 20 months in the program. Longer cases may occur due to the fact that opiate addicts generally need more treatment time. This year, four of the graduates entered the program with felonies, while the others were charged with lesser offenses.

Veterans Treatment Docket - Graduation
On Wednesday, July 19, 2023 the Veterans Treatment Docket celebrated the graduation of one of its participants. Judge Charles L. Patton, Jr. presides over the Veterans Treatment Docket which serves active-duty military service members and veterans who have become involved with the court. By providing a specialized docket, our focus is to increase the veteran’s chance of success. Facilitating access to various treatment programs and fostering interaction with other veterans (Veterans Mentoring Program) helps to ensure that those who have served in our military forces receive the services they need and deserve.
