Cleveland Municipal Court Participates in the 25th Homeless Stand Down
On Saturday, January 23, 2016 the Cleveland Municipal Court participated for the first time in Homeless Stand Down, an event held at Public Auditorium led by HandsOn Northeast Ohio. Prior to the event, organizers "estimated 1,500 guests would enjoy access to social service providers, haircuts, medical screenings, live entertainment, professional portraits, breakfast and lunch, and free winter clothing, personal care kits, bus passes and much more."
Administrative and Presiding Judge Ronald B. Adrine was present with the Honorable Michelle D. Earley and the Honorable Pinkey S. Carr. Judge Adrine stated, "It was a satisfying experience for those members of the court that participated. We provided an opportunity to assist a few people who reached the far ends of their misfortune."
There were 71 cases involving 38 defendants. For 39 of the cases, the sentence was satisfied, 17 cases were dropped, two were dismissed for want of prosecution, two were continued and the rest were referred to probation.
