When couples get married every Valentines Day at Cleveland's Tower City Center, their first stop is the table of the Cleveland Clerk of Courts. For the Clerks registering them, it's more than a job. It's a chance to share a joyous memory with couples.
A total of 28 couples tied the knot and two couples decided to renew their vows on Valentines Day. Three judges,
Lauren C. Moore,
Marilyn B. Cassidy and
Charles L. Patton Jr. performed the marriage ceremonies, which attracted hundreds of daytime shoppers and onlookers. It was the fifth year in a row the Cleveland Municipal Court conducted weddings at Tower City, an idea implemented by Judge Moore because Valentines Day fell on a Saturday in 2009 and the court was not in session.
