• Where is the court located?

  1200 Ontario Avenue Cleveland, Ohio 44113.

• I have a warrant for my arrest, what should I do now?

  Depending on the case, you will have to contact the Clerk’s Office to find out if there is a bond on your case. If there is a bond, it must be posted in order for your case to be heard in court. Once the bond is posted, you will be given a new court date to appear for the charges.

• Where is my courtroom located?

  If this is your first appearance, your case will originate on the 3rd floor in either Courtroom B - Traffic, C - Misdemeanor, or D - Felony. If this is not your first appearance, your case or cases will be heard in one of the upper courtrooms starting with the 12th floor through 15th floor. You may obtain the exact location by going to Administrative Services located in the Justice Center on the 11th floor.

• I have a housing issue, is this heard in the same place as my criminal case?

  Housing matters are dealt with in Cleveland Housing Court, which is located on the 3rd floor next to the Clerk’s Office. You may contact Cleveland Housing Court by calling 216-664-4295.

• I don’t speak English, does the court provide an interpreter to assist in my case?

  The Cleveland Municipal Court has an Interpreters Unit that can assist you while your case is being heard in the court system. You can contact the Interpreter Services Department by calling 216-664-3952.

• How do I become a Bailiff?

  A civil service test is given. Background check, employment check and references. Once hired, you must complete a Bailiff Academy at OPOTA in  London, Ohio.
