(Cleveland) --Love was in the air and all around the Cleveland City Hall Rotunda when Mayor Justin Bibb will joined Cleveland Municipal Court judges to perform weddings on a very special day - Valentine’s Day.
(Cleveland) --Love was in the air and all around the Cleveland City Hall Rotunda when Valentine's Day Weddings returned to City Hall this year on Friday, February 14, 2025 as a record 47 couples were joined in matrimony.
A total of six judges
from the Cleveland Municipal Court performed the ceremonies. The list
included Administrative and Presiding Judge Michelle D, Earley, the Honorable
Andrea Nelson Moore, the Honorable Jeffrey Johnson, the Honorable Sydney
Strickland Saffold, the Honorable Suzan Sweeney and the Honorable Shiela Turner
McCall.
“I was
honored to participate in such a joyous occasion and look forward to continuing
the tradition,” said Mayor Bibb.
The ceremonies began at 11:00 a.m. and lasted approximately three hours.

Going
outside the Justice Center for weddings on Valentine’s Day started in 2009 when
that special day fell on a Saturday. A number of couples wanted to get
married and the building was closed, so the Court reached out to Tower City and the ceremonies were performed there until the pandemic
hit and the ceremonies were performed virtually.
